Job Description:
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining patient files and statistics, responding to request for medical records and performing clerical duties.
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving consumer records in a timely manner.
Protects consumer's rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create a unique medical record for consumers; Provides consumer information to clinicians for scheduled appointments.
Responsible for inserting all documents in the consumer medical record in accordance with program requirements, policies and procedures.
Provides consumer information as needed for special audits and peer review.
Distributes reports to the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health as requested Transmits records and documents for billing and/or legal services.
Sends and receives information via fax.
Reports immediately to the supervisor any errors or misinformation or subpoenas.
Assist at the Reception area when assigned.
Types correspondence, reports, proposals and forms as assigned.
Files documents in an orderly fashion, which are easily accessible to the administrative staff.
Receives incoming telephone calls, routes them to the proper personnel, and leaves appropriate messages when necessary.
Performs a variety of clerical duties and other duties as requested, and maintains working knowledge of the organization.
Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality of all information managed.

Experience and Skills:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.
A.
S.
) or equivalent in Secretarial Science from a two-year college or Technical school or a High School Diploma or a GED with 2 years' experience and/or training.
Clerical experience in a mental health facility is strongly preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
